Past Performance
The history of Power Cycle Ltd and its representatives in relation to the provision of the Priority Bus Route pass dates back to 2009, when we answered to a tender that the ministry had advertised for the PBR passes. At the time the main concerns were the following:
- The production of a PBR pass within prescribed specifications and that it will be able to stand up to harsh environment that it was used in. Particularly the wear and tear passed by the handling of the pass by its users and the damaging effects of sunlight that came into contact with the pass over the 2 year validity period.
- The pass must be visible from a comfortable distance by officers on the PBR.
- They were also concerned about the ease with which the current passes were illegally duplicated. At that time, they were plagued with Maxi Taxi owners and others fraudulent passes and using illegal pass to traverse the bus route while transporting passengers.
- At that time the material used to produce the pass was easily obtained at the local art and craft store. For the latter reason mainly, the ministry requested that there be no local production of the passes.
- That created a real challenge but our company prided itself on being a solutions provider and we were definitely up to the task.
- That year our CEO, Mr. Sobers traversed to the US and Canada in search of not just knowledge of n effective solution but a company that will be able to produce a product that will fit the Ministry’s unique demand.
After the interview of a number of companies abroad, one smaller company stood out. The solution they offered made sense and was sure that the final product will definitely satisfy the requirements of the Ministry.
